Gallery of Underwater Sounds from the RTC Pier

	Ships Ship traffic in the North Bay produces a continual whine underwater.
	Midshipman A droning sound with a fundamental frequency near 100 Hz is the signature of the amorous midshipman.
	Waves Waves from wind or water traffic slap against the RTC seawall and often drown out everything else.
	Groundloop 60-Hz hum is hard to keep out of an audio-frequency system. Its signature is peaks in the Fourier transform at the odd-harmonic frequencies: 60, 180, 300, 420, 540, . . . Hz.
	Unidentified Unidentified sounds. (We hate to admit our ignorance!)
